Baptism, Old House, & Rita's

Today we had our nephew Jake's Baptism (finally he's only 9 yrs. old)! The cool thing about it though, is he is old enough to remember and to pick his own Godparents. He asked Matt & I about a month ago if we would do the honors. Of course we said yes. It was nice and he even sang a solo in Church.
Afterwards my brother Doug & I wanted to go do a "walk through" of our old house we grew up in that is for sale. It was exciting, alittle strange, and sad all at the same time. I took Brooke in with me and of course she had a million questions. It really brought back alot of memories. They really did a excellent job renovating it. The best part of all was when we went into the basement and my name is still spray painted on the wall! My brother took a pic. for me. Cool.
Then my nephew Matt, Brooke, and Brody & I ended our day with a jeep ride to Rita's. Yummy!

I Love My Brother

Brooke is such a great big sister. Sometimes it's really hard for me to believe she is only 4 years old. I honestly could not do it some days without her! The kids are at that age now where they are starting to actually play together & they want to always be with one another. Brooke has basically moved into Brody's room and sleeps there EVERY night. Today we finally put the top bunk on the bunkbeds and as you can imagine, it was a hit. Brooke sleeps on the bottom and Brody is still in his crib, but before long I know they will be sleeping in the bunkbed together. Tonight before bed, Brooke brushed Brody's teeth and then they had to lay together in the bunkbed for alittle while before they went to bed. I think it is so sweet & pray they will grow up and have a close relationship. Sweet dreams.

Emergency

Emergency, Emergency!!!! We had an emergency at our house today, Brooke's dollhouse was on fire. No worries though, the Brooke & Brody fire dept. showed up and took care of everything.
Actually Mommy & Daddy need a little emergency help. Daddy can't move because he pulled his back out working so hard getting the condo ready. Today Mommy went to the Doctor's for a sinus infection & ended up having to miss work. Not only do I have a sinus infection, they had to flush both of my ears out and I was there for 2 1/2 hours!!! So after my Z Pack, a Doctor's note and lots and lots of nausea, I think we all will make it!!

Tip of the Day: Never ever clean your ears with a Q-Tip!

Williamsburg, VA

Wednesday after we had to leave Great Wolf Lodge, we decided to go visit my brother Doug who lives about an hour from Williamsburg. On the way to his house we went to Williamsburg to kill some time while they were all at work. It was hot as can be, and the kids had fun for about a whole 15 minutes. Afterwards since the kids were sleeping in the car, we took the scenic route down to Jamestown & I got to take my first ferry ride over the James River. Best of all, the ferry was FREE! Matt & I had about an hour of peace & quiet, and realized we still love to travel and be together.

It was great to see my brother Doug & his family. We just hung out and went to their community pool. We got a chance to see my nephew Ryan's swim meet Thursday night & then we came home. Another nice trip.

Great Wolf Lodge

Last Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday we took the kids to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, VA. It's this huge indoor/outdoor waterpark. If you have kids, you must go! It's very kid friendly & just AWESOME!!! Well, everything was awesome untill late that afternoon when Brody's face swelled up like we beat him with a baseball bat! Matt took him to the Doctor's the next morning because when he woke up his eye was swelling shut. (Thank God there's a Medical Center right around the corner). Yeah fun. He had an allergic reaction to 3 Mosquito bites; so we think. ?????? Anyway, after we pumped him with Benadryl and he didn't look like a poor Autistic child anymore, we went on with our vacation. Overall the place is great and we are planning to go back at Christmas.

Slip N Slide

Since it was going to be 100 degrees this weekend, I broke down and bought a $10.00 Slip N Slide at the Dollar Store. What a hit!!! The kids LOVED it & even Daddy joined in. Brody however didn't want any part of it, he was looking for "Muscle Beach" instead. Another fun day.

Pony Rides, Pool & Corn on the Cob.

Today we took our kids & our nephews Matt & Jake to Race for the Cure at Kent Island High School. Brooke had her first pony ride! She LOVED it. Of course being the animal lover that I am - NOT, I admired from afar. A guy from the Bay Times took down all her info. & she may even be in the paper next week. Little Miss Hollywood. It was so hot that when we got home they all went swimming in our little baby pool. (Brody played Basketball instead). Matt cooked some hamburgers & hot dogs on the grill & Brody had his first piece of corn on the cob. Yummy!! Another awesome day.

Oh, i'm also going to participate and enter a team next year in honor of my stepmother Kathy. Anyone interested in joining me???

2 X 2

I'm starting to realize EVERYTHING you do has to be in two's. If you do for one, you have to do for the other. Brooke needed new Crocs; so Brody got a pair. Brody needed a haircut; so today they both got a haircut. It actually is much easier this way.
P.S. Notice Brooke's braid at the shop. Everytime she gets her haircut, it must be braided afterwards. Can you say "high maintaince"!

Green Bean Race

This is a great way we get the kids to eat their veggies. We have "Green Bean" races almost every night. As soon as your finished your green bean, you throw your hands up in the air. Here is Brooke & Brody tonight. Tonight, Brooke was our big winner!!! :)

Before & After

This is a typical before & after shot of my day. This is our T.V. room which is now our playroom because Brooke and Brody have taken it over! As you can see, this is why I have a Big Ol Oil Can of Fosters at the end of the night. Cheers mate!!!
